Why Is a Payment Method Required?

To start charging your electric vehicle through the StromNow app, you must have at least one valid payment method on file. This is necessary for several reasons:

1. Secure Billing
Credit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal offer reliable and secure ways to process your charging payments. All three options ensure accurate transactions and help minimize fraud risks.

2. Automatic Payment Processing
Once your payment method is added, all charging fees are automatically and seamlessly billed — ensuring a smooth and convenient payment experience.

3. Availability and Acceptance
Credit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal are widely accepted and internationally recognized, allowing you to charge effortlessly wherever you are.


How to Add a Payment Method

1. Open the StromNow App
Launch the StromNow app on your smartphone and make sure you’re signed in.

2. Go to Payment Settings
Open the menu in the top right corner and navigate to Payments > Payment Methods.
Select Add Payment Method.

3. Choose Your Preferred Payment Method

  • Credit Card: Enter your card number, expiration date, and security code.

  • Apple Pay: Select Apple Pay and confirm the setup using Face ID, Touch ID, or your password.

  • PayPal: Log in with your PayPal account and confirm the connection to StromNow.

4. Save Your Information
Review your details and tap Save or Add.
Your payment method will now be securely stored in your account.

5. Confirmation
Once your payment method is successfully added, you can start charging right away.


Important Notes

  • Payment Method Required: Without a valid payment method, you won’t be able to start a charging session through the StromNow app.

  • Security: Your payment information is encrypted and securely stored — your data remains protected.

  • Updating Your Payment Details: If your credit card, PayPal account, or Apple Pay information changes, please update it promptly to avoid interruptions.

  • Removing Payment Methods: It’s not possible to completely remove all payment methods from your account. At least one valid method must remain active to ensure smooth billing and uninterrupted invoicing.
