Which requirements apply?
KfW changed the conditions of its heating funding programmes on 21 July 2026. The relevant funding product, your application date and the applicable minimum technical requirements determine what applies. Ask your installer or energy efficiency expert to check the requirements for your heat pump.
When should I arrange a smart meter?
Clarify the requirements early as part of planning your heating system. Check whether you need to apply for an intelligent metering system including a control device, or whether your existing equipment is sufficient.
What supporting document do I need?
Request confirmation of the services actually ordered. StromNow can help with questions about your order; clarify technical details of the metering system and installation with Metrify. Check that the metering location, date and any control device are clearly listed. Keep this confirmation with your funding documents.
Must installation be completed before funding is paid?
Check your specific funding conditions to establish whether a confirmed application is sufficient or further evidence is required. An order confirmation does not automatically replace the confirmation of application (Bestätigung zum Antrag) or the confirmation after completion (Bestätigung nach Durchführung).
