What is a control box for?
A control device enables grid-oriented control of eligible equipment. It complements the metering system. For an order placed through StromNow, Metrify handles smart meter installation. Ask Metrify and your electrical contractor which interface your EV charger or heat pump needs and whether additional components are required.
Which grid charge options are available?
Module 1: a flat-rate reduction in grid charges.
Module 2: a reduced per-kWh grid charge for the separately metered consumption of the controllable device.
Module 3: time-variable grid charges in addition to Module 1; an intelligent metering system is required.
How much will I save?
The reduction depends on your grid area, chosen option and consumption. A smart meter alone does not guarantee a fixed saving. Check registration, billing and technical requirements with the relevant providers.
Is the control box installed at the same time?
When signing up through StromNow, check whether a control box is included in the offer. Metrify clarifies whether it will be installed during the smart meter appointment or added later. Ask for confirmation of the scope and costs. General technical availability is not a commitment for your specific metering location.
