Latest Updates and Important Information – System Migration on March 11, 2026

System upgrade

Updated today

On 11 March 2026, we carried out a major system migration at StromNow. With this step, we laid the foundation for a significantly more stable, modern, and stronger charging network across Europe.

At the same time, we also want to be completely open about one thing: unfortunately, not everything went as planned during the migration.

It is important to us to communicate this honestly and transparently so that you can understand what is currently happening, what we are working on, and what will still change over the coming days and weeks.

What is currently not yet working fully

The migration into the new system took longer than expected. As a result, the following issues occurred, among others:

  • not all charging stations and operators were immediately available

  • prices were missing at some charging points

  • price and fee displays were in some cases shown incorrectly

We know this is frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for it.

Why are not all charging stations available yet?

Since the migration, we have been adding more operators and charging stations every day. Many stations have already returned, and more are currently being added step by step.

Our current status is:

  • more charging points are being added every day

  • by 1 April 2026, many of the still-missing operators and stations will be reactivated

These include, among others:

  • Ionity

  • Monta

  • Vattenfall

  • Enercity

  • Mennekes

  • LichtBlick

  • Maingau

Special case: EZE

We are currently still in discussions with EZE. At the moment, EZE is blocking roaming with us, which is why these charging stations are currently not usable via StromNow.

We are working to restore the connection, but unfortunately we cannot provide a final date for this yet.

Why have prices changed so significantly?

Here too, we want to be open: by switching to the new charging network, we lost many of our previous conditions with operators.

This means:

  • in many cases, our previous purchase prices no longer apply

  • we are currently receiving the official roaming prices from the respective operators

  • we are currently passing these prices on 1:1

One thing is especially important for us to say clearly:

We are not trying to make excessive profits from this. The currently higher prices are not the result of a new business model or a sudden markup on our side. They reflect the roaming conditions that we ourselves are currently receiving from the network.

We know that the current situation is not attractive for many of you. That is why we are already working to restore our previous conditions and gradually adjust prices downward again.

We will make further pricing adjustments in April. At the moment, we are working through operators one by one.

Why are PayPal and Amex currently unavailable?

As part of the migration, PayPal and Amex are unfortunately currently no longer available. We are already working to bring both payment methods back.

Our goal is to have them available again within the next 3 months.

What are the long-term benefits of the migration?

Despite the current difficulties, the migration also brings many important long-term benefits.

Once the migration is fully completed, we will all benefit from:

  • more than 1.1 million charging points across Europe

  • Europe-wide availability of StromNow

  • a more dynamic and stable system

  • more live data and better data quality

  • an improved foundation for future features and optimizations

What happens next?

Until 1 April 2026, our focus is on:

  • fully restoring the still-missing operators and charging stations

  • stabilizing connections

  • correcting inaccurate price and fee displays

In April, we will then place additional focus on:

  • price optimization

  • restoring better operator conditions

  • further improvements to the route planner, for which we have already received a lot of valuable feedback from you

There will also be further updates on this in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your patience

We are still a startup, and we are truly doing our best right now to complete this migration properly and resolve the issues step by step.

That is not meant as an excuse, but perhaps as an honest way to frame the situation: we are working at full speed to bring the system back to the level you expect from us, and beyond.

Thank you very much for your patience, your understanding, and also for your direct and honest feedback. It is helping us a lot right now.
