Price Changes at StromNow

StromNow uses dynamic charging prices, which can vary depending on the provider (CPO – Charge Point Operator) and market conditions. This means: the prices shown in our app are not fixed, but reflect the current rates provided by each network operator.

We regularly receive updated pricing information directly from the CPOs with whom we have roaming agreements. If market conditions change – for example, due to increased grid or energy costs – operators send us their new pricing structures, which we then apply in the app.

Unlike other providers, we deliberately don’t use flat-rate pricing. Our goal is to untangle the confusing tariff jungle and bring real transparency to EV charging.

That’s why we show you the exact price per charging station, clearly and visibly, before you start charging.

This way, you can decide where to charge and compare prices – with no surprises afterward.

Most CPOs (Charge Point Operators) only update their tariffs 1–2 times per year. So in practice, prices do not change constantly, but rather minor monthly adjustments may occur.

These typically only affect certain operators or regions – for example, new pricing from a provider in France or adjusted AC tariffs from a network in Germany.

No. Our dynamic pricing model is outlined in our Terms & Conditions (AGB). The subscription contract you enter into with StromNow (e.g. Gold or Platinum Pass) is based on the fixed price of the subscription, not the actual per-kWh charging prices at the station.

Those charging prices can change at any time, as they’re determined by the market and the CPOs. That’s why we don’t send separate notifications for price changes – instead, the app is automatically updated so you always see the latest rate.

We do everything we can to keep our prices affordable and fair. At the same time, by offering full price transparency, we aim to make the EV charging market more customer-friendly in the long term.
