Updates in August 2026

In August, we continued to improve StromNow across several areas. Our focus is on greater transparency, easier navigation, and more ways to customize your charging experience.

We have further optimized how charging stations are displayed in the app.

Station details are now clearer and important information can be found more quickly. kWh prices are also shown directly on the map, making it easier to find more affordable charging stations.

StromNow can now be used without registering right away.

With Guest Access, new users can explore the app and its key features before creating an account.

You can now add charging cards from other providers to StromNow.

This allows you to compare tariffs and prices at a charging station more transparently and decide which charging card you would like to use before starting a session.

Our route planner now places a stronger focus on charging costs along your journey.

Available charging prices and your saved charging cards are taken into account to suggest a more cost-efficient route.

Charging stops can now be customized even more precisely.

For example, you can search specifically for stops near McDonald’s, cafés, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, or other places that matter to you.

We have expanded the available payment methods.

In addition to the existing options, Diners Club and Discover cards are now also supported.

You can now submit your own feature requests directly in the app through the “Help Shape StromNow” section.

You can find this feature in the Me section under Support. There, you can also view suggestions from other users and upvote the ideas you would most like to see.

Ideas with a particularly high impact for the community and a large number of upvotes will receive greater priority in our product planning.

Tesla, EZE, and several smaller charging point operators are currently being prepared for activation.

The technical preparations are well advanced. For some connections, we are still waiting for final approval and activation from the respective partners.

We continue to work on making StromNow more transparent, flexible, and convenient.
